Ryan
reporting in live for the the SummitClimb team.
September 18 Dispatch -
Hello EverestNews.com, this
is Ryan Waters calling from Advanced Base Camp on Cho Oyu, for the Summit
Climb Expedition. It is September 18th, about 11 am. We had some light snow
last night, but the weather now is looking somewhat stable, so all of our
members plan on going up to Camp 1 today and spending the night there. We do
have our Camp 1 in place, with lots of equipment already stashed there for the
higher camps. Our Tibetan climbers also plan on sleeping at Camp 1 tonight,
and helping to establish Camp 2 tomorrow, if the weather looks good.
All of our members are
feeling very good, very strong, and that is good to see. Everyone seems to be
moving at the same time, which is pretty unusual, but it's a blast because
everyone can stick together, climb together, and have fun.
The plan is to spend the
night tonight [at Camp 1], and then probably most or all of our members will
return to ABC tomorrow for some rest days. That's about all the news for now,
we'll call you in a couple of days when we have more information.
Thank you and goodbye.
