Ryan Waters, Checking in from
Kathmandu, on a beautiful Sunday morning. Things are progressing well with our
expedition so far. With slight delays with some of our members flights, and
adventurous cab rides through the deserted city, members Ms. Maya Sherpa, Dan
Blake, Pete Coz, Caroline Cuif, Jacques LeTrange, Ron Oliver, Mon Tindale, and
Neil Wells are all safely in Kathmandu and shopping in town today for last
minute items. We are expecting Roland Debare to arrive today and that will
leave only Paul Burgess and leader Arnold Coster to arrive on the 6th. We are
also excited that Master Cook Kipa Sherpa will be with us for our expedition.
We have scheduled a team
meeting on the morning of the 6th and a group dinner that night in preparation
for departure early in the morning of the 7th. We hope to reach the
Nepal/Tibet border as early as possible in the afternoon, but there have been
some reports of difficult road conditions on the Nepal side, so that may slow
our progress a bit. We will be sure to update everestnews.com on our progress
along the way.
We are all anticipating the
arrival of our final team members and are starting to get excited about the
climb to come. More soon from Kathmandu.
Take care, Ryan Waters and
the summitclimb.com team
