Update 5/16/2004: Searches continue
Searches continue by mystery climbers, some climbing apparently solo. The
"Chinese location" and others have been searched...
On the Italian search,
Tarcisio Bello has the "very
particular task within the structure of the K2-2004 team. It is his
assignment to coordinate the search for the camera of Andrew Irvine, the
climber who disappeared along with George Mallory in 1924 during their attempt
to reach the summit of Everest. The images contained in that small camera
could be the proof of a summit success for the team of two English climbers,
changing forever the history of the highest peak on earth. ", the Italians
state
"This past May 9th 2003, Mr
Bello made a first attempt to recover the camera. He was unfortunately
prevented from succeeding due to the nature of the inclement weather.",
Mr. Bello, seems like a nice, caring man. Best
of luck to him from EverestNews.com. May he have safe passage and good health.
We wish him all the best...
We have come to Mount Everest in search of an answer.
