Earlier Update

Two members of the Himalayan Guides expedition summited on the 15th, Kenton Cool and Clive Jones (NZ) They left camp 4 at 9pm and summited around 1:45 Nepal time. They credit the Sherpas with breaking trail making the summits possible! [good for them!] The arrived back at camp 4 at 8:15.

Kenton Cool and Clive Jones (NZ) were part of Henry Todd's expedition led by Sue Todd, aka Sue Harper. Sue Harper was Russ Brice's base camp manger a couple of years on Everest. Sue married Henry in Feb 2004. Henry Todd, of course is an Everest legend....

Earlier Update: Hi EverestNews.com, Sorry to have been out of touch for so long, but we went up to camp 2 and were there for a week waiting for the weather to improve enough for us to go up to camp 3. There has been a lot of wind and snow and generally not good weather. It has also been very cold. All the team are now well acclimatized having either been all the way to 3, or as far as the weather would allow. We are all now back down in base camp - enjoying wonderful weather!

So, now we play the waiting game - waiting for a summit weather window. Some of the team are going down the valley for a few days to rest. The forecast for the present time from all sources was fairly high winds high up, which haven't materialized for the moment, however some bad weather is forecast for the next few days. Will let you know when we have firm summit plans. Sue
