 Mt. Everest 2004: Himalayan Guides 2004 Everest/Lhotse Expedition now Cho Oyu 2004 Summits! | ||||||

| Update 9/27/2004: I have just spoken to Henry who tells me that his team are now back at Cho Oyo ABC and that he had 10 people on the summit. Sue Update 9/21/2004: Some news from Cho Oyo. Henry's team had the first western summiter. John Pomfrey, an English rugby player, summited on September 18th, the same days as the Singaporeans. The rest have just left for camp 1 for their summit bid. The weather isn't brilliant right now, but it should be fine in a few days time. Best Wishes, Sue Todd (Formerly Sue Harper, for those that don't know Sue and Henry got married earlier this year.) Sue summited Everest in Spring 2004. Previous Everest Update Henry Todd is returned to Mt Everest again in Spring 2004 to led the Himalayan Guides 2004 Everest Expedition. The expedition will include Ted Atkins and Kenton Cool is leading Jagged Globe part of the expedition. The Jagged Globe climbers are Clive Jones (NZ) and Nick Brook (UK). Update 4/19/2004: Hello EverestNews.com, Greetings from Everest Base Camp. We have an Everest and a Lhotse expedition. All members have now arrived at base camp, with the exception of Chris Warner, who is climbing Lhotse and who will be arriving in about 5 days time. Everyone is fine and getting on well together, although we are really missing Ian Mackay, who was with us last year and we hoped would be back again, but he is obviously still getting his breath back.....! Most members of both climbing teams have already been up through the icefall to camp 1 and spent a night there. It snowed whilst we were up there and in the morning we saw some very spectacular avalanches. They didn't reach us, but the wind from them did....... Camp 2 is now established and the Sherpas are working hard stocking it. The kitchen will be up and running in 2 days time and so we will all be making our way up there for further acclimatisation and to enjoy a few days enjoying the splendid vistas of the Western Cwm.
