 Adventure
Peaks Mt Everest 2004 Expedition
|
 |
 |
Latest News:
The Team have aborted their Summit
Attempt.
Dave Pritt - (British) Expedition Leader (Adventure Peaks) will lead a
group of 9 clients, 2 leaders, 4 BBC team
making a documentary, and 15 Sherpas
to Everest . Leaving Uk 29th March.
This is a
professionally-led non-guided expedition which follows the original Mallory
and Irvine route from the Rongbuk glacier within Tibet and still offers a real
mountaineering challenge. The expedition will offer members the opportunity to
tackle the mountain in a variety of ways. The choice of approach will depend
on each individual’s philosophy:
- The modern pure approach making a fast alpine ascent
without the use of oxygen or any artificial aid or assistance.
- The traditional approach with a steady build up placing
intermediate camps and a final push for the summit with or without the use
of oxygen.
In order to allow for those members who wish to aim for an
oxygenless ascent the team will work together to establish the expedition on
the mountain before any personal oxygen is carried from Advanced Base Camp.
