| The Swiss have summited Everest! at 06.00 A.M. on the 16th of May, Mr. Kilian Volken (53 yrs), Mountain Guide, Fiesch IM Birchi, Switzerland and Mr. Peter Gschwender (42 yrs), Mountain Guide, Austria reached the top of the world! Update One 4/4/2003: Dear friends, We are arriving at Thursday 30 minutes past 2 pm in Kathmandu. We fly Thursday 8. of April to Lukla. Now we started [sending] the information over EverestNews.com. Kilian Volken + Peter Gschwendtner Kilian Volken from Fiesch Switzerland and Peter Gschwendtner from Austria, will attempt the summit of Mt Everest from the south side without oxygen! Peter has lived for the last 18 years in Switzerland The sirdar of this expedition is Mingmar sherpa from the Solo Khumbu. The 2 members of the team is arriving at the 6. of April and stay until to the beginning of June. They will take a acclimatisation time and will try between two months to climb the summit.
