| Update: 05/19/04: They have reached the summit!!!! Today at 7:45 h. local, 4 in the morning Catalan time, the DONES EVEREST 2004 EXPEDITION HAVE REACHED THE SUMMIT!!! Maite and Nuria were on the top of the world for just enough time to shoot the pictures, and now they are coming down at the speed that their legs and prudence allows them. They have plenty of time, which means they will meet soon with their other teammates at A.B.C. 05/19/04: They are coming down. Maite [Hernández] and Nuria [Balagué], after having reached the summit, have arrived to Camp III, where they will rest and spend the night. Tomorrow they plan to continue their descent to A.B.C. Update Here are two very short updates about the girls from Catalunya: 05-18-04: Today at 8 h. in the morning (Catalan time), Maite and Nuria sleep at Camp III, on their way to the summit. Meanwhile, Silvia is turning to A. B. C., where she will meet Marisa. Tomorrow, if the monsoon which is coming from the Bengali Gulf lets them, the expedition could assault the summit of Xomolungma (wrongly called Everest by Westerners). 05-16-04: Today Maite, Nuria and Silvia have left Advanced Base Camp towards Camp I, in the North Col. The idea, if the weather is proper, is to push for the summit on the 19th. Let’s hope their strength and the weather keep being favorable. Summit is the goal. Jorge Rivera

Their plan is to climb Everest, via the North Face, during April 2004. The expedition starts on March 30 and ends on June 10. The proposed plan is as follows:
