IMG Everest Nepal Dispatch #6
Sunday, April 11, 2004 - Base Camp

IMG expedition staff member
Jason Tanguay emailed from Base Camp today to say Happy Easter to all their
families and friends and to let us know about the status of the team. The
trekking group has now arrived safely back in Kathmandu after a solid effort,
good trekking and a safe journey down through the Khumbu. The Island Peak team
led by Phil Ershler is still at work on their climb and we'll hope to hear of
their success in the next day or two. Meanwhile, back up at Base Camp, Jason
sent this photo of the happy climbing team (taken on Puja day.) The work is
well underway to get Camp 2 ready for occupation, and Swee, Dan and Ron headed
up from Base Camp on Sunday to spend a few nights at Camp 1, with more team
members expected to move up to Camp 1 on Monday to begin the process of
gradually building their acclimatization prior to summit bids. Jason promised
to send news of this first full rotation through Camp 1 once they've all
either headed up or headed back down, or both!
