IMG second assault on Everest Summit starts!: IMG Mount Everest 2004

Update: IMG Leader Mark Tucker reports from Base Camp (9:30 pm Nepal Time) that yesterdays summit climbers are all back down at ABC now doing fine.  The weather remains good and the second team climbers had a good trip up to the Col today and are now starting their summit bids.  IMG non guided climbers Will, Brad, Mike, Swee, and Sherpas Dorje Lama, Mingma Ongel, Panuru left the Col at 8:30 pm with support from sirdar Ang Passang and two other Sherpas (who will go to the Balcony, drop oxygen, then return to the Col to wait for them along with Col cook Ram Baharadur).  Swee is climbing without oxygen.  Tucker reports that they left early to get out ahead of the crowd.   Hopefully now that the route has been put in and is well established over the last two days they will have an easier time of it than did the climbers on the 15th who had to break trail and put in fixed ropes.
