American IMG climbers summit Mount Everest NEWSFLASH: IMG Mount Everest 2004

Update: Mark Tucker report that the IMG non guided climbers Dan, Ron, Brien, Jason, Kevin and Sherpas Karma Rita and Mingma reached the summit about 1 pm NEPAL TIME and are getting ready to head down.  They are all doing OK.  Good job you guys.  The climb is now exactly one half finished! Jason has worked as a professional mountain guide for the last eight years. Mountain guiding has taken him to many peaks in the western US and around the world, including the top of Mt. Rainier over 70 times and six Alaskan expeditions.  Jason is a veteran of expeditions to Cho Oyu and Everest.

He was one of the recipients of the American Alpine Club's prestigious Sowles Award in 2001 for his role in what became the world's highest mountaineering rescue at 28,750 ft. on Everest's North Ridge.  Jason holds a masters in teaching and works as a high school biology teacher on Vashon Island in Washington state.
