Mt. Everest 2004: IMG Mount Everest Expedition 2004
South Side (Nepal) Dispatch 12

Update 5/11/2004: IMG Leader Mark Tucker reports that the IMG team is now moving into position to start the summit bids.  The first group of Jason, Kevin, Brien, Dan, and Ron moved on May 11 (Nepal time) from BC to Camp 2 and will take a rest day tomorrow.  If the weather remains reasonable, they will move to C3 the next day (the 13th).  At the same time the second team of Swee, Brad, Will, and Mike will move to Camp 2.  Also on the 13th the lead Sherpa team will move from C2 to the Col in preparation for fixing rope to the Balcony on the 14th.  This Sherpa team will be comprised of two Sherpas from each the IMG, Korean, and Himalayan Guides groups.  Mark Tucker expressed his disappointment that no other teams were willing to contribute to this effort.  If all goes according to plan the IMG Sherpas in support of the first team will move to the Col on the 14th along with the lead group, in preparation for a bid on the 15th.  The second team is planning to be two days behind them.  Keep your fingers crossed!
