5/3/2004: Dear
EverestNews.com, Jon Otto from Blue Sheep Travel just sent us a new computer.
So, now we are back online, thanks to Jon. We hope this computer lasts longer
than the other one did. Most of our members have slept a night at the North
Col. More than half are down in basecamp resting. Some are still getting used
to the altitude in ABC, and are carrying loads to the North Col and trying to
get used to the altitude up there. Our 19 Sherpas and Tibetan Climbers are
working very hard, and we have been pleased with the 90 tents generously
provided to us by Ozark Gear. Everyone is holding up amazingly well,
considering we have had snow and very high winds during the last seven days.
We hope that better weather will allow us safe access to the higher reaches of
the mountain during the next few days. Thanks for the great job you are doing
at EverestNews.com !!! Yours Sincerely, from all of us at SummitClimb.com
