05-06-04: Hi: It is May 6th
at 17:45 hours here in Nepal. It is around 4 in the morning there in Mexico.
I just wanted to tell you I'm at Base. I got here around 14:00 hours (Nepal
time).
On May 4th at 11 in the
evening I left from 7,400 meters towards 8,000. I was alone because no one
from the group could climb on the 4th to 7,400 because of the wind. At 5 in
the morning on May 5th I almost got to the South Col. I got almost to the
summit of the Geneva Spur, that must be around 7,850 or 7,900 meters and I
turned around there. It was very cold and I was tired. I was back in my tent
in Camp 3 (7,400 m) at 7:30 AM and I slept until noon. At 13 hours I went
down to Camp 2 and I spent the night there.
Today, the 6th, I woke up in
Camp 2 and I came down to Base along with Alejandro and Luis. I will write
the whole story with details and with about 150 pictures we took.
Now I will only rest. I will
write more tomorrow.
