Makalu Expedition 2004 lead by Norwegian Sven Gangdal: Update 6

"...We arrived basecamp ABC 5700 6.april. Today, we have climbed the route up to camp 1, which will be fully finished by tomorrow. Today we had sun in the morning, and a snowfall in the evening. We are all by good health. We acclimatize individually, but it seems that all of us are in a good mood! The Sherpas are incredible, they are going strong, and really keeps the spirit up. Our solar-panels are finally working, so everything can be charged.

All medicines and first aid-equipment are distributed, so now each one of us has emergency equipment in case anything goes wrong. We all send our greetings! We are celebrating a somewhat different Easter-holyday here, and our thoughts goes to our beloved ones at home!..."
