Hello EverestNews.com, I just
wanted to register my completion of the 7-Summits Kosciuszko-Version. Based on
available statistics, I am the oldest American at time of completion
(58-years, 321-days).
Here are the details:
1. Denali, Expedition
Leader: Randy Peeters, Route: West Buttress, Summited on 5/17/89. Other team
member: Harlan Reese, USA.
2. Aconcagua, Expedition
Leader: Randy Peeters, Route: Normal, 1/4/92. Other team member: Harlan Reese,
USA
3. Elbrus, Route:
Normal, Summited on 8/17/01. Summited with Marty Schmidt (Expedition Leader),
NZ.
4. Everest, Route: South
Col, Summited on 5/16/02. Summited with Ang Tsering Sherpa, Nepal and was a
member of Henry Todd’s Expedition.
5. Kilimanjaro,
Expedition Leader: Randy Peeters, Route: Machame, Summited on 12/5/03.
Summited with Al Albright, USA, et. al.
6. Mt. Vinson, Route:
Normal, Summited on 1/13/04. Summited with Forest McCarthy and was a member of
Alpine Ascents International Expedition.
7. Kosciuszko,
Expedition Leader: Randy Peeters, Route: Normal route from Thredbo, Summited
on 10/26/04. Summited with Doris Peeters, USA.
Please note that I have also
reached the South Pole on 1/21/04 by airplane with Haruhisa Watanabe, Japan. I
currently plan to do the last 1½ degrees to the North Pole in April 2005.
