K2 North: The arrival of the restocking supplies –

The bad weather continues on the North Side of K2.  Even today, in fact, there is a fresh coat of snow on the tents around base camp. The following are Fabio Agostinis’ impressions:

“Today’s news is that the first of the restocking supplies of food have arrived. Remaining so long at base camp, we have consumed many more food supplies than originally planned for. 

It is the third time that I find myself facing this side of the mountain.  The first two times were in 1991 and 1994 and this was to be the crowning trip of the three.  5 days of decent weather in two months is really too few in which to hope to accomplish something.  We hope that the weather of the next couple of weeks will surprise us! What do I think of when I think of Italy?  Well, my family for sure, my two sons who are almost grown and my daughter who is about to graduate from college.  A greeting to all"
