K2 2004 - 50 years later

K2 North: All is rescheduled awaiting the return of good weather.

On the north side of K2 the bad weather persists.  The mountain is covered, dark and cold, even if the actual air temperature is relatively mild.  We will await an improvement of the atmospheric conditions. 

The climbers, awakening at 2 a.m., observed a dark sky full of threatening rain. They waited to decide on their actions until 3:30 a.m. Even then, there was little improvement, heavy snow had begun to fall.

At 10 a.m., a tepid sun appears between the clouds, but the light snow is now mixed with rain which dampens the tents. It is useless to insist.

The outlook continues to be positive and faced with  continued difficulty, the group remains strong.
