K2 South: Current
status:
"tomorrow morning I call to you from the summit?" these the
words from the telephone (Gnaro) Silvio Mondinelli 7,800 meters of Field IV
It won't be easy!!! We will update again in a few
hours as news arrives....
and from a few hours earlier...
K2 South:
equipment swept away by the wind
at camp III
After a recup of the
equipment availability also at at camp II and I, K2 2004 mountaineers were
offered by the three members of “Al filo de lo imposible “, at camp III with
our team the use of their tents to sleep for the night
"What we found at camp III
left us amazed – Silvio Gnaro Mondinelli says - “The wind was very, very
strong and it literally swept away every thing: our tents and our equipment
which costed us a lot of time and great effort to carry, went lost!”
After a recup of the equipment availability also at at camp II and I, K2 2004
mountaineers were offered by the three members of “Al filo de lo imposible “,
at camp III with our team, the use of their tents to sleep for the night .
In the meantime, Karl Unterkircher was able to recover “Colle Sud” tent which
will host mountaineers who will be getting tomorrow up to camp II.
It is for us particularly important to thank the Spanish team for their
generosity and collaboration
