Andalucía K2 Expedition begins
preparations in Islamabad
 
Andalucía K2 expedition arrived to Islamabad, the capital of
the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. They are staying in a hotel of the nearby
populous city of Rawalpindi. The members of the expedition will pick up the
material shipped by air from Andalucia to pack and weigh the drums they use to
carry the load up to Base Camp, so that none of them is over 25 Kg, which is
what a porter can carry.
Andalucía K2 -2004- expedition is formed by Manuel González Díaz and Manuel
Morales Rodríguez, from San Pedro Alcantara (Malaga), Fernando Fernández-Vivancos
Fernández and Raimundo García del Moral, from Granada, and Manuel Salazar from
Jerez de la Frontera (Cadiz).

expedition is organized by Federación Andaluza de Montañismo, Club Alpino Ama
Dablam (San Pedro Alcantara), Club Montañero Sierra del Pinar (Jerez de la
Frontera) and Club de Aire Libre Treparriscos (Granada), and sponsored by
Consejería de Turismo, Comercio y Deporte of Junta de Andalucía, through
Deporte Andaluz, Ayuntamiento de Jerez, and also Tenencia de Alcaldía de San
Pedro Alcantara and Delegaciones Municipales de Juventud y Deportes, Cultura y
Turismo del Ayuntamiento de Marbella.
