Austria Broad Peak and K2 Expedition 2004

Update 5/30/2004 Islamabad: I have been arriving at 6 in the morning and the temperature was already 30°C. On my flight there were two Guys from Columbia which also want to climb K2. I am hanging around with them at the hotel pool now. Before lunch we did some shopping. I had to buy a new cap because I forgot mine at the airplane.

During the night there were bad thunderstorms. The day was sunny and hot again up to 46°C. Today I had a sightseeing tour through Islamabad with the two Columbians and Gilles, the crazy French who was here last year (He only wanted a cigarette when he finally managed to get up to Camp 1). Now I am lying at the hotel pool trying to get used to the heat.

Update 6/1/2004: The morning was boring today. Due to the heat I was sleeping most of the morning. The afternoon was busier. My luggage has finally arrived and gone through the customs (Juhu!!). At 17.00 I met my Liaison Officer, Major Ahmed Nadeem Iftekhar from the artillery. He seems to be a very nice man. Now it is 19.15 and we are ready to go for dinner.
